Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using The Scout Hub. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.
The Scout Hub is an online marketplace operated by McLaughlin Sportek Ltd (Company No. 17347865), registered in England and Wales. We provide a platform that connects football players, staff, scouts and agents with clubs across the United Kingdom.
Important — marketplace intermediary notice: The Scout Hub is a marketplace intermediary only. We are not a party to any contract between players, staff, scouts, agents and clubs. We do not organise, run or take responsibility for the content of any trial or vacancy. The contract for a trial, session or vacancy is between the club and the player, staff member, scout or agent directly. Our role is to facilitate the connection and protect all parties through our platform rules and payment system.
Players may create an account from age 13. Every other account type — staff, club, scout and agent — is for adults only: you must be at least 18 years old to create one of these accounts. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet the minimum age for that account type. If we become aware that a non-player account belongs to someone under 18, we will suspend the account and issue a full refund for any payments made.
How it works for players under 18 (“youth accounts”): there is no direct messaging with a youth account, for any other user, under any circumstances. Contact happens only through the application process — a youth player applies to a trial or vacancy, the club reviews it, and responds with a status update (invited or not proceeding, with an optional short note), which is sent to the player and copied to their parent or guardian. There is no reply option beyond the original application; any further contact needed to arrange a trial happens off-platform, directly between the club and the parent or guardian, using contact details the club provides once a player is invited. A youth player's location and current club are hidden from other users and from search until they apply to a specific club, and a youth account never appears on our Discover map. See our Privacy Policy, section 13, for the full detail.
Parent/guardian consent is required, not optional: before a youth account can be activated, we require a parent or guardian's name, email address and explicit consent, and require the player to acknowledge a one-time safeguarding notice covering how to stay safe when attending a trial. A parent or guardian can contact us at hello@thescouthub.co.uk at any time with questions, or to request removal of their child's account.
Clubs must be legitimate, registered sporting organisations. We reserve the right to verify identity and reject applications at our discretion.
The Scout Hub charges a flat finder's fee per trial booking, based on the club's step/level, and monthly subscription fees. All payments must be made through The Scout Hub platform. The finder's fee is deducted from the player's trial fee automatically; the remainder is paid to the club. Academy and reserve/U23 sides are charged according to the level their first team plays at. Our fee schedule is:
Club subscription fees: Starter £14.99/month, Elite £39.99/month. Player subscriptions: Pro £8.99/month. Staff, scout and agent subscriptions: Pro £12.99/month. Applications beyond the free weekly allowance cost 99p each. All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
Staff placements: Staff-role listings (coaching, medical and sports science, operations and admin, scouting and analysis positions) use the exact same flat finder's fee schedule as player trials, set out above, based on the club's step/level. The fee is deducted from the applicant fee the club sets automatically; the remainder is paid to the club.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a subscription within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason. This is your statutory cooling off period.
To exercise your right to cancel, contact us at hello@thescouthub.co.uk within 14 days of your purchase. You will receive a full refund within 14 days of us receiving your cancellation request.
Exception for digital services: If you have already used the subscription service (for example, posted a trial or contacted players) during the 14-day period, you acknowledge that by using the service you consent to waiving your cancellation right for that billing period. You may still cancel future renewals at any time.
Trial bookings: Once a player has attended a trial, the booking fee is non-refundable unless the club cancels or fails to deliver the trial as described. One-off trial booking fees are not subject to the 14-day cooling off period as they constitute an immediately performed digital service.
Players are entitled to a full refund if a club cancels a trial or session after a booking has been made. If you need to cancel your own booking, contact us as early as possible.
48-hour forfeiture rule: If you cancel your own booking, or fail to attend, within 48 hours of the scheduled trial or session date, you forfeit any fees paid and no refund will be issued. Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled date are considered at The Scout Hub's discretion and depend on the notice given.
All refunds are processed within 5–10 business days back to the original payment method. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from your billing dashboard and you will retain access until the end of your current billing period.
Clubs are strictly prohibited from requesting, accepting or facilitating any payment outside The Scout Hub platform. This includes but is not limited to bank transfers, cash payments, PayPal, or any other payment method. Violations will result in immediate account suspension or permanent ban. Players should never pay for a trial outside The Scout Hub — if asked to do so, report it immediately through the platform.
Clubs must not share the exact trial venue address or postcode before a player has completed a booking through The Scout Hub. Venue details are automatically released to players upon payment confirmation. Clubs must not share personal contact details (phone numbers, email addresses) with players through the platform messaging system before a booking is confirmed.
Users must not use The Scout Hub to engage in fraudulent activity, misrepresent their identity or credentials, post false or misleading trial listings, harass other users, or attempt to circumvent platform protections. Violations may result in immediate account termination.
The Scout Hub acts solely as a marketplace intermediary and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, is not responsible for:
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
We strongly recommend players ensure they have appropriate personal sports insurance before attending any trial. The Scout Hub does not provide insurance cover of any kind.
All content on The Scout Hub, including but not limited to the platform design, logos, and technology, is owned by McLaughlin Sportek Ltd. Users retain ownership of content they upload (profile photos, highlight videos) but grant The Scout Hub a licence to display that content on the platform.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at hello@thescouthub.co.uk and we will aim to resolve it within 14 days.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by email. Continued use of The Scout Hub after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
